I am

■ I am a fieldworker & a storyteller

I study human geography & visual anthropology, and I have been researching & writing about "beachboys" in Kuta, Indonesia. "Physically", I belong to the graduate school of Letters (doctoral program), at Hokkaido University in Japan (my B.A was at Nagoya City Univ. school of Humanities and Science, I Finished M.A. in Hokkaido univ).  Also "officially" I have been an internationa lstuduent for 9 years in Japan. Most days, I think about Space & place, time & distance, tourism & migrations, and visual anthropology as methods of my research, and also I love to think about, staying & moving, paddling & surfing, working & playing, wanderers & nomads, living & leaving, loving & hating etc. by me & you & them for last 7 years. And that is how I've lived in Korea, Japan & Indonesia. However, it won't be the way I survive for my whole life, as I have so many exciting dreams which have to become true in order to show and share with you.

■ I am an empty artist almost for everything

I love to paint & design some stories by drawing & taking photos & taking films. And I do love to play piano & accordion & my voice (I sing). Sometimes I perform music (normally jazz in the bar or cafe, located where I live: Nagoya, Sapporo, Bali).  Mainly I play Jazz, but really I sing and play whatever I like. I, do, really, like, music, even more than a nice bottle of scotch wiskey perhaps... There were few teachers, who tried to teach me, "How to be an artist?" in my past. But actually what they taught me was, "How to leave them as fast as possible". I do appreciate those good teachers who taught me painting & design for 3 years, piano for 6 years. I like to learn, but it's not always for studying at the school. For me, "Learning" is the entire process of  joyful "conversation" with teachers, collegues and most of all, myself. I don't really know about "who I am". However, I tend to identify myself as a great pretender, a professional nomad, and an owner of MaYa's (moving) Cafe, which is now in Sapporo city, JAPAN■
